NUCCRA is involved in setting industry standards, developing the nationally recognised carpet cleaning qualification and raising professionalism in the industry. IICRC - Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification

The AS/NZS 3733:1995 Carpet Cleaning Standard provides requirements for various cleaning techniques and recommendations for the establishment of maintenance programs for carpets in residential and commercial situations to achieve maximum appearance retention and wear life, and to minimize possible hazards to health from poorly maintained carpets.
AS/NZS 2455.1:2007 Textile floor coverings - Installation practice - General
The AS.NZS 2455.1:2007 Carpet Installation Standard sets out requirements for installing textile floor coverings (carpets). It gives details of the work necessary in preparing subfloor surfaces, together with the procedures that are to be adopted where textile floor coverings are laid over various types of subfloors and underlays, and where subfloor heating units are installed.

IICRC S100 Carpet Cleaning Standards
IICRC S100 includes: a consumer checklist for routine maintenance and cleaning, followed by a chart of cleaning frequencies that promote safety and health.
